Putting Kids First: Pioneering Statewide School Mental Health in Massachusetts

Learn how one state is pioneering statewide school mental health. John Crocker, M.Ed., Founder & Director of Massachusetts School Mental Health Consortium (MASMHC), will join us to discuss the origin story of the MASMHC, current priorities/projects, and initiatives like MHL.

Dr. Booke Eisenbach and Dr. Jason Frydman of Lesley Univerity (Cambridge, Mass) will present information about integrating mental health literacy (MHL) in middle school English Arts through young adult literature. Their qualitative research findings will lead to a broader discussion about how educators can use their skills to integrate MHL into their classrooms.

On January 18, the founders of the MHLC (Donna, Annie, and Jason) will present the newly developed MHL Advocacy Toolkit. The Toolkit will be a living product adjusted and refined throughout 2024. After the presentation, there will be a Q&A, feedback, and open discussion.
