We know the goals of mental health literacy include increasing knowledge and confidence about mental health, recognizing and addressing signs of concern, improving help-seeking, and decreasing stigma.

But research also shows that mental health literacy education can improve classroom relationships, build a common language, open conversations, encourage advocacy, and increase empathy (Figas et al., 2024).

Empathy matters. There have been many points in history when empathy was paramount.

We think today, maybe more than ever, empathy really matters.

Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 6-7:30pm ET/3-4:30pm PT

Educator confidence is a primary barrier to implementing MHL education, but MHL Aware strengthens educator confidence. Post-training data shows an increase from 49% to 98%!

The MHL Aware Facilitated Version embeds Aware content in schools and community spaces by leveraging trusted local voices, ensuring fidelity to the content while allowing flexible delivery and meaningful alignment with local priorities and initiatives.

Prospective Discussion Facilitator Trainees must hold MHL Aware certification. Ideal candidates work/serve K12 school communities, higher education, or community organizations in the U.S. This training best aligns with U.S. audiences.
