Stephanie Pasternak, Director of State Affairs for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), is a founding advisor with the MHLC.

Since our earliest days, Stephanie’s deep expertise and unwavering dedication have played a vital role in shaping our advocacy efforts around school mental health policy.

Whether joining us in person as a panelist or offering key insights during virtual check-ins, she has been a steady and invaluable presence.

Recently, our Chief Learning Officer Dr. Donna Volpitta represented the MHLC at the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting in New York City. Our Commitment to Action was recognized on stage alongside other great work serving youth mental health. We often quote MHLC Founding Advisor Erin Wick who says, “We can’t only treat our way out of this crisis.” It’s always a privilege to serve leaders who recognize this fact and who seek out opportunities for proactive education for their communities.

In recognition of World Mental Health Day, our CEO Annie Slease brought MHL to the law firm of Richards, Layton & Finger in Wilmington, Delaware. This was a powerful conversation addressing key concepts including the need for building a common language and MHL as the missing piece of Health Literacy.
We are grateful to RL&F for prioritizing the wellbeing of their team by ensuring they have foundational knowledge and confidence about MHL.
