The MHLC is always looking for research to support aspects of mental health literacy. Recently three studies were published that support the first pillar of mental health literacy: Understanding how to foster and maintain positive mental health New research reveals that how, why, and when we exercise plays a big role in its mental health benefits—for both adults and kids. Here's a breakdown of three recent studies exploring exercise and mental health: Adults benefit most from purposeful, enjoyable movement—think yoga, team sports, or walking with friends. Children and teens who participate in structured, mixed-type activities show lower rates of anxiety, depression, and long-term mental health issues.
